We’re thrilled to share that Sohao Café, one of Gainesville’s most beloved Asian fusion restaurants, is opening a second location! The new site is at 4928 NW 39th Avenue, a well-known restaurant space previously home to Ichiban Sushi. This move marks an exciting new chapter for Sohao Café as they expand their culinary footprint across Gainesville.

The newly acquired second-generation restaurant includes a freestanding building on .53 acres with a spacious 4,223-square-foot layout. This turnkey restaurant space is fully equipped with a state-of-the-art kitchen, a sushi bar, indoor seating for 180 guests, and outdoor capacity for an additional 50. Initially built in 1998 and renovated in 2019, the building is situated in the heart of the NW Gainesville Business District, enjoying visibility and access with a traffic count of over 33,000 cars per day.

This location’s reputation, visibility, and functionality perfectly match Sohao Café’s continued growth and vision. With their signature blend of bold flavors, artful presentation, and warm hospitality, Sohao’s second location is poised to become another staple in the Gainesville dining scene.

“It was a great pleasure working with the owners of the Seller, Sohao Café, Scruggs & Carmichael, Salter Feiber PA, and Florida Credit Union. Both buyer and seller were thrilled, and I am incredibly grateful to have worked with such a professional and collaborative group,” said Eric Ligman, Director of the Commercial and Land Division at Bosshardt Realty Services.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in making this transaction seamless and successful. We can’t wait to see what’s in store as Sohao Café brings its unique flavor and passion for food to NW 39th Avenue.

Stay tuned for updates on the grand opening—and get ready to experience your Sohao Café favorites in N.W. Gainesville!
